Pre & Post Care Guide
POWDER OMBRÉ/MICROBLADING PRE-CARE
You MUST NOT be pregnant or nursing.
If you are undergoing chemotherapy (consult your Doctor).
You must be off Accutane for at least one year.
No chemical peels 4 weeks prior and must wait 4 weeks after. (If you do frequent peels, the brows will fade quicker due to the chemicals traveling under the skin.)
You can not have a tan on your face at time of appointment or you will be rescheduled. Pigments will heal DARKER in TAN skin. Tanned skin bleeds, therefore pigment will not take and will look blurred. ALSO NO TANNING AFTER PROCEDURE.
Do not take any aspirin, ibuprofen, Niacin, Vitamin E, Fish oil, and/or any BLOOD-THINNING medication 7 days before, unless medically necessary.
Excessive bleeding during your procedure will greatly affect how your body retains pigment. While this is not entirely in our control, it is important that you follow prep instructions to help minimize bleeding. This includes avoiding blood thinning medications, Salmon (Omega-3 fatty acid), high in Vitamin E (Spinach, Broccoli, Kiwi fruit, Mango, Pineapple, Almonds, Evening Primrose oil, Tomato, Turmeric (curry), Ginger, Garlic, Cinnamon, Cayenne peppers, Kelp, Chamomile tea, Olive Oil, for at least 24-48 hours before your appointment.
NO ALCOHOL 24 hours before.
No Caffeine or Energy drinks within 6 hours before appointment.
Delicate skin or sensitive areas may redden or swell slightly; SOME clients feel it best not to make any social plans for 2 days following any procedure.
If you get your eyebrows waxed or tinted, please have it done at least 72 hours prior to your scheduled procedure.
Ritinols/Retin-A’s, other anti-aging creams or serum containing acids will fade your permanent makeup prematurely even after it is healed. You must be off all Retinols/Retin-A’s 30 days prior to appointment. If not, the area will bleed and pigment will not heal properly. And avoid using on or around the area for 30 days after.
You may be more sensitive when getting tattooed right before and during your menstrual cycle.
Come in with little or no makeup on day of procedure.
Do not work out the day of the procedure & 10 days following procedure as the body heat expands the pores. Sweat is salt and can prematurely fade the treated area.
If you use Botox, it should be performed either 4 weeks prior to or 4 weeks after your scheduled procedure.
Smoking will cause the pigment to fade prematurely and anesthetics will not last as long.
If you have any condition that requires you to take antibiotics prior to going to the dentist, it is a good idea to do the same prior to all tattoo work.
You should NOT donate blood for one year following the cosmetic tattoo/microblading procedure.
POWDER OMBRÉ/MICROBLADING AFTERCARE
Proper care following your procedure is required to achieve optimum result.
Area may be swollen and tender for up to 72 hours. Cold packs may be applied to minimize swelling. (Do not put cool packs directly on skin. Clean paper towel may be placed between skin and cold pack.)
Darkness, thickness, and unevenness of shape right after the procedure is normal due to swelling.
Avoid applying makeup on procedure area for 7-10 days (during HEALING TIME).
Avoid hot tubs, chlorinated pool, sauna, saltwater, excessive sun, and no heavy exercise for 7-10 days. If not, this may cause color change and/or infection.
No swimming until the area is completely healed. Salt water or chlorine can cause the pigments to fade and change color and/or infection.
Avoid direct shower water on the treated area after procedure.
ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ON THE TREATED AREA. No water, no makeup, no lotions, etc. for 7 days.
Tenderness, dryness and itching are normal during the healing process. Do not pick, peel, or scratch the area or color will heal unevenly. Scratching may cause scarring.
Monitor area for any oozing. Press gently with tissue to remove. If bod fluids remain, a thick scab will develop and will inhibit color pigment Saturation.
Flakes will appear or small scab will form within 2-7 days. DO NOT PEEL or PICK.
Previously done eyebrows may take 1 to 3 treatments to achieve the desired result.
Allow the inside of the skin to heal and color will slightly darken after 4 weeks.
You should not donate blood or any procedure similar for one year after cosmetic tattoo/Microblading procedure.
